Kochi: 470 cadets attend Student Police Cadet camp

The passing out parade will be held on April 21 in which District Collector K Mohammed Y Safirulla will take the salute.

Kochi: A total of 470 cadets from 14 schools across the district and 100 police officers are taking part in the five-day summer camp of the Student Police cadet, SPC Metropolis Summit- 2017, which got underway here on Monday. Kochi mayor Soumini Jain inaugurated the camp at a function presided over by C A Santosh, District Deputy Director, Education Department. City Police Commissioner M.P. Dinesh, Deputy Police Commissoner G.H. Yatish Chandra and Deputy Excise Commissioner

A.K. Narayanan Kutty were present. According to the organisers, cadets get a chance to interact with police officers, take part in physical training programmes, and display their talents during the residential camp. The camp will also include parade, physical training classes, classes by experts in science and technology, discussions with political and socio-cultural personalities and field visits. The passing out parade will be held on April 21 in which District Collector K Mohammed Y Safirulla will take the salute. P Vijayan, Inspector General of Police, Kochi Range, will be the chief guest.
