Hyderabad: No place in Neet for guesswork
Hyderabad: Neet-2 will pose a bigger challenge for students from the two Telugu speaking states as it differs from Eamcet.
While the duration of the exam is the same at three hours, the Neet paper comprises 180 questions compared to 150 for the Eamcet.
Neet has negative marking. For every correct answer in Neet, a student gets four marks. For every incorrect answer, one mark is deducted. Eamcet has no negative marks. Faculty from coaching institutes have advised students to be extra careful with their answers.
“They should attempt questions which they are very sure of. Guesswork is not advisable at all. At the fag end of the Eamcet exam, students who don’t get enough time guess the answers. This strategy will not work for Neet,” a senior faculty member at a coaching institute said.
The speed and accuracy of students will be tested in Neet. They have to answer more questions than Eamcet and be sure of their answers, he told this newspaper.
