Hyderabad: The car driver, driving Tollywood actor Nani home, dozed off and rammed into an electric pole on Jubilee Hills Road No. 45 during the early hours of Friday.
“Fortunately, the airbags installed in the car saved their lives and the impact of the crash was reduced,” said Mr Naresh, sub-inspector, Jubilee Hills.
“The accident occurred around 4.30 am on Friday when the SUV driven by Srinivas with Nani in the backseat, rammed into an electric pole,” said the official, adding that the actor was fast asleep when the accident occurred.
Both sustained injuries and were rushed to a nearby private hospital for treatment.
A case under Section 3 of PDPP (prevention of damage to public property) Act was booked and an investigation was started, said the police.
