Unresolved TSRTC and APSRTC matters to figure in the meeting
Hyderabad: Issues between TSRTC and APSRTC have persisted since the formation of Telangana State.
TSRTC Employees Union general secretary K. Raji Reddy said that usually state RTCs operate more buses based on kilometres covered in the home state and geographical area.
“During united Andh-ra Pradesh, we ran more buses to Bengal-uru as the state had bigger geographical area on the concerned route compared to Karnataka. The Karnataka government, therefore, used to operate fewer buses. Now, TS has higher geographical area on the AP-Hyderabad route, but AP is running more buses. APSRTC is operating 800 more buses compared to services operated from AP and Rayalaseema regions during united Andhra Pradesh. Besides this, there is an issue of local and non-local employees in both states and mutual transfers are required,” he said.
Mr G.V. Ramana Rao, MD of TSRTC, said both governments had for-med committees on the number of services between the two states.
“Their meeting is scheduled on May 11 and the committees will get clarity on this matter,” Mr Rao said.
