KOZHIKODE: An alliance of the Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) and the Samajwadi Party (SP) will support Mr P.C. George in Poonjar. The leaders of both the parties told reporters here on Friday that the SP’s national leaders, including Mr Mulayam Singh Yadav and Mr Akhilesh Yadav, would visit Kerala for campaigning.
They also announced their new candidates’ list. The SP will contest in 20 seats and the first ten seats were announced on Friday. The alliance will try its luck in 95 constituencies. Already 56 candidates have been named. SP state president N.O. Kuttappan will contest in Kunnathunadu and SDPI state treasurer Jaleel Neelambra in Malappuram.
The press conference was attended by SDPI state president K.M. Ashraf, SP national secretary Joe Antony, N.O. Kuttappan, SDPI state general secretary P. Abdul Hameed and SP state vice-president P. Sukeshan Nair.
