Bengaluru: The ruling Congress in the state is likely to take action against Kodagu leader, T P Ramesh, who was caught misbehaving with MLC, Veena Achaiah during the Independence Day celebrations at Madikeri, according to Science and Technology Minister, M E Seetharam.
The Minister, who is in charge of Kodagu, said he had spoken to KPCC president, Dr G Parameshwar and working president, Dinesh Gundurao about the incident and action would be taken against Mr Ramesh."I was present on the dais and this sort of behavior is not acceptable. However close they may be, such behavior is not acceptable on a public platform. He should have resigned as KSSIDC chairman," Mr Seetharam said.
Referring to Mr Ramesh, who was seated next to Ms Acchaiah, trying to hold her hand at the event, the Minister said, "One could understand if it was an accident. But one could see that he was upto some mischief. There will be action by the party after a preliminary inquiry and he will be suspended."
Moving on, he regretted that the special grants released to Hyderabad-Karnataka on the recommendation of the Dr Nanjundappa Committee report, had failed to deliver results.
The Minister also revealed that six mobile planetariums would roll out in the first week of September and visit various schools in every taluk and hold shows for high school students. Private schools would be allowed to use the planetariums only after all the government schools were covered, which may not be possible this academic year, he added.
