Tamil Nadu polls: Jayalalithaa declares assets worth Rs 113 crore
Chennai: The assets of Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa’s have come down when compared to that in June last year when she contested the R.K. Nagar bypoll. At present, the total value of her assets amounting to Rs 113 crore and loans worth Rs 2.04 crore.

The movable asset owned by her is worth Rs 41.63 crore. She has Rs 10.63 crore bank deposits and Rs 27.44 crore investments in firms. She owns an ambassador ( Rs 10,000), Mahindra jeep ( Rs 10,000), Mahindra Bolero ( Rs 80,000), Tempo traveller ( Rs 80,000), Swaraj Mazda Maxi ( Rs 10,000) Contessa ( Rs 5,000), Tempo trax ( Rs 30,000) and two Toyoto ( Rs 20 lakh each).

The total value of immovable assets is Rs 72.09 crore. They include agriculture land at Hyderabad, commercial buildings at Poes Garden, Teynampet and Mandaveli. She has no income tax dues or any other dues in wealth tax, service tax or property tax.

The 24,000 square feet Poes Garden residence ‘Veda Nilayam’ is valued at Rs 43.96 crore. Jayalalithaa and her mother had purchased it for Rs 1.32 lakh in July 1967, the affidavit said.
Referring to her jewellery, Jayalalithaa said the exact value of the 21,280.300 grams of gold could not be ascertained as they were seized by authorities and were now lying with Karnataka government treasury.

The chief minister also declared that she has 1,250 kg of silver articles valued at Rs 3.12 lakh. Contesting from Srirangam constituency in May 2011 Assembly elections, she had declared assets worth Rs 51.40 crore.
