Only BJP has concern for people's welfare, security: L Ganesan
Chennai: BJP senior and party’s national executive member L. Ganesan has claimed that only the BJP could work for the development of the state as it has concern for people’s welfare and security of the state as well.
“People should see the intentions of other political parties and opt for the BJP, which alone can provide development and corruption-free governance,” he said campaigning for his party.
Turning to huge sums of money seized by the election commission officials, he said the election commission should divulge the details on the political parties that are involved in stashing hefty sums of money for distribution to the voters.
The senior leader who campaigned in various parts of the state including Ramanathapuram, said the election commission should take steps to curtail the increasing trend of cash for votes policy pursed by certain political parties in the state.
The poll commission started to act after the opposition parties and media raised the issue, he added. Meanwhile, Union Minister of State for Road Transport, Highways and Shipping Pon Radhakrishnan accused the Election Commission of being “silent” on the complaints against the ruling AIADMK.
The functioning of the Election Commission only raised suspicion that it was favouring the AIADMK. On the fishermen issue, the minister said political parties rake up the issue only during the time of elections and remain silent while all other occasions. Unlike such parties, the BJP is committed to foster the well-being of the fisher folk. The BJP government under PM Narendra Modi has been taking numerous measures to benefit the fishermen.
