PM Announces ₹2 Lakh Ex-Gratia for Kurnool Accident Victims
Prime Minister expresses grief over tragedy; financial aid for deceased and injured from PMNRF

New Delhi/Amaravati: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed deep sorrow over the tragic road accident in Andhra Pradesh’s Kurnool district that claimed eight lives.
In a post on X from Prime Minister’s Office, he conveyed condolences to the families of the deceased and wished a speedy recovery to those injured in the mishap.
Announcing financial assistance, the Prime Minister said an ex-gratia of ₹2 lakh from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund (PMNRF) would be provided to the next of kin of each deceased, while the injured would receive ₹50,000 each.
The accident occurred near Chilakaladona in Mantralayam mandal when a Bolero vehicle carrying pilgrims from Karnataka collided with a ready-mix lorry in the early hours of Thursday. Several people were also injured and are undergoing treatment at nearby hospitals.
