HYDERABAD: Senior IPS officer Shikha Goel on Friday assumed charge as principal secretary, home. She will continue to hold full additional charge as director of the Cyber Security Bureau and director of the Forensic Science Laboratory.
Upon taking charge, Goel emphasised enhancing coordination among key wings under the home department, including police, prisons, fire services and the directorate of prosecution. She underlined the need for a collaborative, technology‑driven approach to strengthen internal systems and improve public service delivery.
In another development, Avinash Mohanty assumed charge as director of Prohibition and Excise Enforcement at Excise Bhavan. He was welcomed by Special Task Force teams and senior officials. Enforcement joint commissioner Anjan Rao introduced key officials, including assistant commissioner Pranavi, additional SP Venkateswara Babu, DSP Tirupati Yadav and team leader Pradeep Rao.
Deputy commissioners Anil Kumar Reddy and P. Dasharath, assistant commissioner R. Kishan and excise superintendents from Hyderabad and Rangareddy districts also met the new director.
