Painting is haram in Islam: Twitterati slams Moeen Ali for Sir Viv Richards portrait
Mumbai: England cricketer Moeen Ali was slammed by a number of Muslim fans on Twitter, for drawing a portrait of Sir Vivian Richards.
Moeen, who is one of the few well-known Muslim British celebrities, had posted a picture of himself drawing a portrait of Sri Viv Richards, a tweet in which he urged his fans to bid for the portrait. The money raised from the auctions are set to go towards charity.

However, certain section of his fan base were not amused by this development, as they seem to believe that a devout Muslim should not draw pictures.
