Wedding date, venue and invitees for Virat Kohli-Anushka Sharma's impending marriage

Mumbai: While neither Virat Kohli nor Anushka Sharma has confirmed or denied the reports of their impending marriage, the speculation continues to grow with each passing day about what could be one of the biggest Indian weddings in recent times.

Since the time it was first reported that Team India skipper Virat Kohli will take a break from his cricket commitments, the rumours of his wedding with Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma started doing rounds.

While Anushka’s spokesperson denied the reports last week, the speculation have no found no breather as it was then reported that the couple had left for Switzerland.

Soon, it was learnt that the two, alongside their family and select few, have left for Italy. While Anushka and her parents were spotted at the Mumbai airport, Kohli and co left from Delhi airport.

What added more fire to the marriage buzz was a photo of a priest, with whom Virat and Anushka were clicked a few months ago, accompanying Anushka’s brother.

While the speculation refuses to die down, here’s what had happened thus far in terms of possible marriage date, location, invitees and more.

Denial:

Last week Anushka Sharma’s spokesperson denied the reports of the Bollywood actress tying the knot with Team India skipper Virat Kohli, saying, “There’s absolutely no truth to it.”

Possible marriage venue:

Earlier, it was reported that a luxury hotel in Milan will host the Virat-Anushka wedding. However, it is now speculated that the two will exchange the marriage vows in a villa in Tuscany, Italy.

Meanwhile, the CEO of Adelaide Oval – an iconic cricket venue in Australia where Kohli enjoys a great success – had expressed interest to host the wedding.

Wedding date:

There are multiple wedding dates that are doing the around when it comes to the Virat Kohli-Anushka Sharma marriage. While at once it was speculated that the two will marry either on December 12 or December 18, there are reports that state the two will tie the knot on December 15.

Who will be invited?

Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma and their families want to keep the wedding a closed-knit affair and don’t plan to invite too many people for the marriage barring a few friends and family members, it was learnt.

While it is reported that Virat has invited only two cricketers – Yuvraj Singh and Sachin Tendulkar – for the wedding, Anushka has apparently sent out invitations to Bollywood biggies Shah Rukh Khan, opposite whom she made her Bollywood debut in Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi, Aamir Khan, her PK co-star, Maneesh Sharma – director of Band Baaja Baaraat, which also starred Ranveer Singh and Yash Raj Films head Aditya Chopra for the marriage.

Wedding reception in Mumbai?

While there is no confirmation from any of the parties involved, it is reported that a grand wedding reception will be held in Mumbai either on December 21 at a five-star hotel before Kohli leads the Indian team for a gruelling tour of South Africa which will see Indian team play three Tests, six ODIs and three Twenty20s.
