Wriddhiman Saha to miss upcoming England-India Test series?

Saha had earlier this year injured his left thumb during the Indian Premier League (IPL), where he played for Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH).

Mumbai: India wicketkeeper Wriddhiman Saha is unlikely to take part in the upcoming five-Test series against England.

Saha had earlier this year injured his left thumb during the Indian Premier League (IPL), where he played for Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH).

He did not take part in the India-Afghanistan Test, and was replaced by Dinesh Karthik.

According to a recent report in ESPNCricinfo, Karthik could once again step in for the Bengal cricketer, who remains a doubt. The report also adds that Saha’s recovery could take upto five or six weeks.

After clinching the T20I series 2-1, Virat Kohli and co will hope to do the same when the teams faceoff in Leeds for the ODI series decider on Tuesday.

The five-Test series will kick off on August 1.
