'Ee sala egg namde': Twitterati roasts Virat Kohli's RCB over world record egg post

The IPL franchise posted a picture of a cracked egg, hinting about their squad strength for the upcoming edition.

Mumbai: Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) was heavily trolled on Saturday after hailing the strength of their current squad for the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) season.

After a viral picture of an egg overtook Kylie Jenner’s record for the most liked Instagram picture, the Karnataka-based franchise on Saturday posted a picture of a cracked egg on their Twitter account hinting that even the best IPL sides won’t be able to handle Virat Kohli’s RCB in the 12th edition of the cash-rich league.

The caption read: “The amount of pressure that you're put under when you face this team is something that even the best of the best can't handle. So, how many likes can this team get?”

Twitterati, however, was quick to reply to the witty post and took a dig at RCB over their failure to acquire any silverware over the years.

RCB endured a dismal campaign last year, finishing sixth on the IPL table despite boasting the likes of Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers. The inability of the middle-order to fire coupled with the failure to prove effective in the death overs cost them a low finish.

But with Gary Kirsten at the helm of affairs, replacing Daniel Vettori as the coach, the side has bolstered their squad with the acquisitions of Shivam Dube, Heinrich Klaasen and Shimron Hetmyer for the upcoming season.

RCB squad for IPL 2019: Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers, Parthiv Patel, Washington Sundar, Pawan Negi, Moeen Ali, Colin de Grandhomme, Yuzvendra Chahal, Mohammed Siraj, Tim Southee, Umesh Yadav, Navdeep Saini, Kulwant Khejroliya, Nathan Coulter-Nile, Shivam Dube, Shimron Hetmyer, Akshdeep Nath, Prayas Barman, Himmat Singh, Gurkeerat Singh Mann, Heinrich Klaasen, Devdutt Padikkal, Milind Kumar
