IPL 2018 Auction: After Ben Stokes, Rajasthan Royals pay Rs 11.5 cr to Jaydev Unadkat
Bengaluru: After being out of Indian Premier League for two seasons, Rajasthan Royals are back and continued their spending spree, as they made Indian pacer Jaydev Undadkat second expensive player in this years Indian Premier League (IPL) players auction. England all-rounder Ben Stokes is the other costliest player to brought for 12.5 crore.
Jaydev Unadkat was the second highest wicket taker in last seasons IPL , picking up 24 wickets in 12 matches. He missed out on the 2017 IPL Purple Cap to Sunrisers Hyderabad’s (SRH) Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who finished the season with 26 wickets under his name .
Karnataka team-mates KL Rahul (Kings XI Punjab) and Manish Pandey (Sunrisers Hyderabad) emerged as the most expensive Indian cricketers on the first day of the auction fetching a whopping Rs 11 crore.
It was a breakthrough 2017 season for the left arm pacer. Unadkat’s brilliance with the ball in the death overs saw his guide RPS to the final last season. He has also given selectors a taste of how instrumental he can be with the bat as well.

The left-arm speedster emerged as the Man of the Series during Sri Lanka’s T20 tour of India in 2017 to prove his worth to Rajasthan Royals .
