Virat Kohli: Records like Tendulkar, guts like Ganguly?
Melbourne: The following figures define a superstar, perhaps, a legend in the making — 91, 59, 117, 106, 8, 90*, 59*. No, we aren’t in the 90s and the statistics do not belong to Sachin Tendulkar. The Indian spectators have a new hero. The man with records like the former cricket icon and guts, like Sourav Ganguly – the former India captain.
Meet Virat Kohli – the package with class and aggression.
Whenever Kohli is in Australia, he ensures there is a bit of chat in the middle. The Australians are known for sledging and the Indian cricketer loves giving it back.
His on-field expressions, expletives or not, are priceless.
Even if he smiles, confidence oozes out.
During the second T20 against Australia here, a series of photographs captured his gestures while the hosts were chasing the total of 185 set by Team India.

No matter the result or the balance of the match – Kohli’s expressions never had a sign of worry. ‘I am Virat Kohli and I am a winner’ came out loud and clear.
He mocked Australian cricketer Steve Smith in the first T20 after the latter was dismissed. Kohli made a gesture that said ‘you talk too much while batting’.
Smith was speaking to the commentators on the microphone throughout the over and eventually, he got out.
Earlier, when James Faulkner tried to tease him during the ODI series, he replied saying: “I have smashed you enough in my life.”
But Kohli is not only about words, he means action and the numbers speak for themselves.
