Kambli to file defamation case against Tanmay for insulting Sachin, Lata

Mumbai: Trouble continues to mount for stand-up comedian Tanmay Bhat after his Snapchat video mocking Indian legends Sachin Tendulkar and Lata Mangeshkar went viral. While Shiv Sena and BJP demanded action against Bhatt, Censor Board Chief Pahlaj Nihlani wants comedian to get arrested.

Now, former India cricketer Vinod Kambli is set to file a defamation case against Bhat. Kambli, who represented the country in 121 games, said that he has spoken with his lawyer.

The video shows Bhat using Snapchat face swap filter, first to imitate Tendulkar and hurl abuses at Virat Kohli and then to mock Mangeshkar.

Some of the punchlines used by the comedians were:

• “Phuck Virat. No, I’m very respectful for Virat. He is very good with bat and ladies.”
• “Lata tai namaskar. Very respectfully I’d like to add that you are 5000 years old.”
• “Your face looks like someone has kept you in water for eight days.”
• “Just look at you. Jon Snow also died, so you (Lata) should also die.”

Kambli took to Twitter and said that Mangeshkar was like a mother.

Kambli and Tendulkar, who once shared a great rapport, reportedly fell out after the former, on a TV show, claimed that the Master Blaster did not help him much when Kambli needed it the most.
