Kabaddi World Cup: Bangladesh ease to victory
Ahmedabad: Bangladesh showed their title credentials as they cruised to an easy 52-18 win over England in the Kabaddi World Cup tie on Saturday.
Riding on excellent performances by their raiders, Bangladesh notched a comfortable 52-18 win in the second Group A match. Captain Aruduzzaman Munshi led the scoring charts with eight points as Bangladesh raiders scored 34 points.
England's defence had a night to forget as they not only failed to score many points but also conceded easy bonus points on numerous occasions.
Bangladesh were first out of the blocks and led 2-0 after two minutes before England's Keshav Gupta scored his team's first point.
Thereafter it was all one way traffic as Bangladesh took a comfortable 23-9 lead going into the break.
The second half followed the same vein and Bangladesh continued on despite England raising their game a notch. Despite their improved show, there was very little the Englishmen could do as Bangladesh strolled to a resounding victory.
