Google's Daydream VR comes to India after a year for Rs 6,499
The world is moving towards a future where entertainment is acquired in Virtual Reality (VR). VR experiences are being the most sought after mode of entertainment as well as education. Google introduced the concept of VR to the masses with dirt cheap Google Cardboard VR headset and unveiled the Daydream View headset last year. Since India is full of tech enthusiasts looking out for the latest gadget in any category, Google decided to launch the Daydream View headset in India for a price of Rs 6,499.
The Daydream View is made of soft fabric and can be worn over glasses as well. It has an auto-alignment system that makes the compatible phone ready on it own when put into the headset. The Bluetooth controller helps the user to interact with elements in his/her ‘virtual world’ in a natural way, i.e. you can point at options and menus by simply moving the controller in space. The headset has a provision to attach the remote to it.
The Daydream platform is supposed to provide an unparalleled VR experience to the user. It is a rival to Oculus VR and Samsung Gear VR. Since it's constantly supported by Google, there are a lot of third-party apps available to enjoy in a 360-degree space. Users can enjoy apps like YouTube VR, Netflix VR, Google Play Movies and Mekorama VR to enjoy content in a 360-degree surrounding. You can also play certain games in the Daydream View headset like Gunjack 2: End of Shift, Need For Speed No Limits VR and LEGO BrickHeadz Builder VR.
The Daydream View is available exclusively through Flipkart. Note that Daydream VR is only supported on Google Pixel, Pixel XL, Moto Z, ZTE Axon 7 and Huawei Mate 9 Pro handsets as of now.
