The Samsung Galaxy S8 has been hogging the limelight since its launch. The super-smartphone packs in the latest internals and has novel features to introduce to its consumers. However, the phone also has to win back Samsung’s reputation of making world-class phones that are safe as well, especially after the Note 7 fiasco.
To find it out, YouTube channel “What’s Inside” has uploaded a video tearing apart the Samsung S8, brutally. The video shows Daniel and his son Lincoln trying to pull apart the S8’s rear glass panel with the help of two suction cups. After repeated attempts, they fail to pull away the panel and turn to YouTube destroyer “Jerry Rig Everything” for help. Once “Jerry Rig Everything’s” Zack came into the scene, the Galaxy S8 lost its rear glass cover with the help of his tools.
The inside of the phone uncovered a well built chassis along with the sealed battery. They play with the OIS camera sensor, explaining how the camera snaps pictures and records videos by eliminating the shake of hands.
The phone was then mercilessly sawed in half from the top. The phone was dying before the camera, showing its tears in the form green coloured distortions from the sawed sAMOLED “Infinity Display”.
However, by the time the phone had achieved its death, the battery started puffing out smoke and swelling up immediately. Surprisingly, the smoke was extinguished with some kind of security measure built-in the battery unit. The phone didn’t catch fire even after being subjected to piercing with a sharp knife.
This shows that the Samsung Galaxy S8 is quite safe in comparison to the Note 7 in terms of battery-related issues. Check out the video for yourself.
