LG's upcoming flagship smartphone will bring in a new series
When compared to Samsung and Apple, LG is clearly not in the same league with the big guys when it comes to sales across the world. That doesn’t mean that their smartphones are any bad; in fact, the LG G6 was one of the first smartphones in 2017 to bring narrow bezels display to the commercial smartphone market while V30 has gained praises for its capable camera. This shows that LG intends to sell a lot of smartphones with good features and notable quality, which is why we might see the company going for a new flagship series.
An LG spokesperson has confirmed to The Investor that the company will be phasing out the G series and will be coming up with a new series, possibly to overhaul their brand image the world market. LG is preparing a new brand strategy for the G series in the first half of the year. Numbering the phone with a two-digit number and rebranding the phone with a new name are some of the options on the table,” an LG official stated.
LG had initiated the G series back in 2012 with the Optimus G and later dropped the ‘Optimus’ tag with the G2 and going up to G6. The company hasn’t said anything about V series as of now. We might be hearing from LG about this new flagship series within this month at the CES 2018 event, where the successor to G6 could be unveiled.
