Xiaomi Mi 5 specifications revealed in benchmark test results
Xiaomi has finally confirmed the launch of the Xiaomi Mi 5 flagship handset and the event will be held in Beijing towards the end of February 2016. Rumours and speculations about the Mi 5 have been around for more than a year. While many speculated the Mi 5 to carry a quad HD display, Xiaomi’s co-founder Liwan Jiang confirmed on his blog post that the device will sport a Full HD panel. He said that the Mi5 will include numerous technological advancements including a high-powered processor, but will keep some specifications untouched.
However, GFXBench, a hardware graphics testing and benchmarking website, listed a Xiaomi Mi 5 handset’s results that gave away quite a few details about the smartphone. As for the information in the results, the Xiaomi Mi 5 will sport a 5.7-inch display with a full HS 1920 x 1080 pixel panel. The device will also boast of the most powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset, the SD820, which features 2xKryo@2.1GHz + 2xKryo@1.6GHz - ARMv8 processors and an Adreno 530 GPU along with 2.7GB of RAM. The internal storage revealed in the test was 54GB (64GB total). Other information also revealed that the Mi 5 will sport an NFC chip and a single SIM card slot.
The Xiaomi Mi 5 will come with Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box, but it will be a custom MIUI ROM, the aftermarket operating system from Xiaomi’s own kitchen.
