Redmi 4A gets Android Nougat 7.1.2-based MIUI 9.2 update
If you are a Redmi 4A user, then there’s good news for you. Xiaomi has rolled out the stable version of MIUI 9.2 for its 2017 entry-level offering. The update is based on Android Nougat 7.1.2 and weighs around 1.3GB. However, do note that Xiaomi has released the update as a Nightly build, which means only selected users will be getting the new update to test for bugs and other issues before a wider public rollout is announced.

The Redmi 4A was launched in early 2017 with MIUI 8 based on Android Marshmallow, which was later updated to Android Nougat 7.1 based MIUI 8. Xiaomi even rolled out a beta program for MIUI 9 based on Nougat, which was withdrawn later. The MIUI 9.2 will bring several new features such as split-screen multitasking, new animations, new themes and wallpapers, Quick Switch, new Gallery app, calendar cards, App Vault, screen recording and more.
The Redmi 4A sports a Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 chipset paired with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage. It came with a 13MP rear camera and a 5MP selfie camera. Xiaomi launched an updated version of the 4A in December 2017 by the name of Redmi 5A, which came with mildly tweaked design and an updated MIUI 9 OS.
