Samsung could launch two foldable smartphones next year: Reports

Samsung is working on two foldable smartphones, with one featuring dual-screen to be launched next year.

Samsung has been in news for its plans to introduce foldable smartphones in the market for years now, and now new reports have surfaced online claiming that the tech giant is likely to launch not one, but two foldable smartphones in 2017.

According to a recent report by ET News, Samsung is working on two foldable smartphones, with one featuring dual-screen to be launched next year.

The rumoured foldable smartphone with dual-screen is expected to be unveiled at the Mobile World Conference (MWC) to be held in February 2017 in Barcelona or the Consumer Electronic Show (CES) which will take place in January in Las Vegas.

Earlier rumours suggested that the dual-screen foldable smartphone will be hinged together to appear like a small book. It was said that the smartphone will come in three orientations: fold out to move the screens on the front and back, fold in to protect the display, and laid out flat to use it as tablet.

There are speculations that the company will roll out a small number of foldable smartphone and will continue to produce more only after knowing customers say on the phone. That is why, the other foldable smartphone reported to feature OLED screen is expected to arrive sometime after the dual-screen phone, based on customers’ feedback on Samsung’s first foldable phone.

However, Samsung itself has not yet made any official announcement regarding the launch of two foldable smartphones in early 2017.
