Xiaomi Meri: new device spotted on benchmarking website
Xiaomi seems to be gearing up to launch a new smartphone dubbed as the Xiaomi Meri. The device was spotted on two benchmarking websites revealing the specs and design of the phone.
According to Geekbench listing reveals that the smartphone will be powered by a 1.4GHz octa-core processor paired with 3GB RAM. It will run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow. The phone scored 758 on the single-core test and 3105 and 3043 on the multi-core test.
The AnTuTu listing reveals that the phone will sport a 5.5-inch display with 1080 x 1920 pixel resolution. The device may run Mali-T864 graphics processing unit, indicating that it could be equipped with the Rockchip SoC that includes four Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 2.2GHz and four other Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.4GHz. The smartphone could pack 64GB internal storage.
Design wise the smartphone features a sleek design with a rectangular home button on the front panel, while a fingerprint sensor housed on the rear panel. Xiaomi is expected to launch the device this quarter in China and probably won’t be launched in other countries. Xiaomi is also expected to unveil its Mi Note 2 with 6GB RAM and Snapdragon 820 SoC next month.
