BlackBerry to announce new smartphones next week
BlackeBerry is all set to announce its new flagship in the coming weeks, said BlackBerry’s CEO John Chen.
According to Crackberry, at the BlackBerry Security Summit, Chen said that the company would discuss its upcoming smartphone next week. He added that the announcement would be made by BlackBerry COO and General Manager of devices, Ralph Pini.
Earlier, rumours suggested Blackberry to sport Android OS in its upcoming flagships, named BlackBerry Neon, Argon and Mercury.
Reports had speculated that the Blackberry Neon model is likely to release in July or August. The smartphone is expected to sport 3GB of RAM with 16GB of internal storage, powered by Snapdragon 617 processor, and a 2160mAh battery. In terms of camera the smartphone may sport 13MP rear sensor and an 8MP front sensor camera.
While the BlackBerry Argon is expected to sport a 5.5-inch QHD display, powered by Snapdragon 820 Soc, and 4GB of RAM with 32GB of internal storage. The smartphone may carry a 3000mAh battery with QucikCharge 3.0. It may also sport fingerprint sensor and USE Type–C. In terms of camera, the smartphone may sport a 21MP rear sensor while the front camera may sport an 8MP sensor. The smartphone is speculated to release in October.
Lastly, the BlackBerry Mercury may sport a 4.5-inch full HD display, powered by Snapdragon 625 processor, and a physical QWERTY keyboard. The smartphone is also expected to be released this year.
