Samsung cooking Android 8.0 Oreo update for its flagship smartphones

The South Korean giant has already started working on the pilot model for Android Oreo with its own customised UI.

It seems Samsung fanatics will have to wait till 2018 to experience the new update of Android 8.0 Oreo on their smartphones. The South Korean giant is planning to roll out Android 8.0 Oreo update to its upcoming smartphones. The company has already started working on the pilot model for Android Oreo with its own customised UI. However, Samsung is yet to announce the devices which will taste the Android Oreo update.

Google made Android 8.0 Oreo official back in August this year and is currently available on Nexus and Pixel phones. Currently, Sony Xperia XZ Premium smartphone is the only non-Google device to run on Android Oreo. There are rumours flying around that HTC will soon start pushing out Android 8.0 update to its flagship smartphones sometime between November to early December this year.

To recall, Android Oreo is equipped with a customizable system for managing notification system which will be prioritised with better interaction without entering the application. The update also brings a new picture-in-picture mode (PIP) that will enable the users to participate in a video conference or watching a Youtube video, displayed in a floating window while surfing the web or accessing other applications.

The new update claims to bring better performance to the devices. Also, the apps running in the background will consume lesser computing power and enable users to launch or close the apps faster than usual.
