Samsung J5 and J7 2017 editions leak in video
The mid-range smartphones from Samsung have always been known to be average and uninspiring. The J series smartphones were always a league behind the competition’s offerings, both in terms of design and performance. However, it seems that Samsung has realised its product's weakness and therefore worked hard on the J5 and J7 for 2017.
A video on YouTube by Quku.ru shows the alleged Galaxy J5 and J7 2017 editions in individual first-hand experience. Both the smartphones feature a 3.5mm headphone jack, microUSB port and a physical fingerprint scanner on the front. The J5 2017 comes with a 5.2-inch Super AMOLED screen with 720p resolution, has 2GB of RAM, runs on the Exynos 7570 chipset and a 3,000mAh battery. The phone has a 13MP rear camera sensor and a 5MP sensor for the front while having 16GB of internal storage.
The J7, on the other hand, features a 5.5-inch Super AMOLED display with Full HD resolution, powered by an Exynos 7870 chipset. The battery capacity will be rated at 3,600mAh and will also come with 3GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage which can be expanded using a microSD card. The J7 2017 also gains IP54 certification and comes in silver, black, gold and pink colours. Plus, it gains Samsung’s popular Always-On display. Moreover, the Galaxy J7 (2017) will feature NFC and Samsung’s MST tech for mobile payments. The front camera will be a 13MP shooter with f/1.9 aperture, while the rear camera will have the same sensor.
The upcoming J5 and J7 2017 could be starting at $300 and $340 respectively. It remains to be seen if Samsung will actually launch these phones as the J series mid-rangers.
