LG V30: everything we know so far
Technology giant LG will soon be unveiling its flagship V30 smartphone and it will be interesting to see what the company has in its store for its fanatics. What’s more impressive is that company’s previous two ‘V’ series smartphones, the V10 and the V20, not only hit the chords right, but also brought something new to the table with an additional display. The device sure did have some flaws but they also pulled LG back in the game, and this makes the upcoming V30 an eagerly anticipated device.
Although, LG is yet to announce the smartphone, but several half baked reports and leaks with its specifications are available over the web. The smartphone can see light in the coming months, but here’s what we know so far about LG’s next flagship V30:
Display:
For the V30, LG is said to be using an OLED panel instead of the LCD screens usually used on its smartphone. This can come in handy if the company uses a curved display like its G Flex devices, which feature OLED tech. The LG V30 can also have a ‘bezel-less’ display similar to the LG G6, but is likely to feature the signature secondary display. The V30 display can also feature an inset camera similar to the one seen on the essential phone.
Specifications:
The LG V30 will most likely include the Snapdragon 835 processor and will come with IP68 certification for dust and water resistance and ESS Quad DAC support, as well as a headphone jack. Just like its predecessors, the V30 is also expected to deliver high quality audio.
Few online reports claim that the smartphone will feature wireless charging, a dual camera setup and a fingerprint sensor on the rear panel. OnLeaks suggests that the V30 will boast a glass rear and come with a removable battery. While both V10 and V20 had removable batteries but they lacked the waterproofing capabilities.
Price:
It’s very early to predict the price of LG’s upcoming flash, but there are few suggestions circulating that say the device will be priced around $699 for the 64GB variant. The device is also expected to come in 32GB and 128GB variants.
Release date:
The LG V30 is speculated to be unveiled on August 31, a day before the opening of IFA 2017 Berlin which runs until September 6. The rumour was first picked by The Investor. However, If we do see the V30 at IFA, its official release will probably follow a few weeks later, in South Korea for sure, but hopefully globally.
