When Tendulkar was bowled over by Dharamsala's scenic beauty

Sachin Tendulkar was bowled over by the beauty of Dhauladhar mountain ranges in Dharamsala.

Chandigarh: Retiring Indian batting legend Sachin Tendulkar was bowled over by the beauty of Dhauladhar mountain ranges in Dharamsala to the extent that he picked up his phone and rang up his wife Anjali describing the breathtaking scenic beauty to her.

Tendulkar was then part of the IPL Mumbai Indians team, which played a match against Kings XI Punjab at picturesque Dharamsala stadium in May.

Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association President Anurag Thakur told reporters here today that Tendulkar was mesmerised by the beauty of Dharamsala and soon after his arrival at the hotel, the champion batsman immediately rang up his wife Anjali and described the scenic beauty to her.

According to Thakur, Tendulkar then summoned the Hotel Pavillion's chef and himself marinated some sea food items. He gave his recipe to the chef and instructed him to prepare the dish accordingly.

In the evening, Tendulkar relished the cuisine, with Thakur and some of his teammates.

Thakur said the HPCA will pay tribute to Tendulkar by dedicating a by dedicating a cricketing museum at Dharamshala in his honour at the HPCA premises.

He also said that HPCA has passed a resolution to develop 200 grounds at Panchayat level, under which the Association will provide equipment and kits, with T-shirts and bats carrying pictures of Sachin.

Thakur described Tendulkar as a "rare talent" whose services will be immensely missed by Indian team.

Tendulkar will retire after playing his landmark 200th and final Test at his home ground in Mumbai.
