Central Crime branch arrests teacher of a Chennai corporation with fake documents.
Chennai: In the second arrest in four days, the forgery division of Central Crime branch (CCB)-Chennai city police on Saturday arrested another teacher of a Chennai corporation school for joining service using fake documents.
On Saturday, Raja (56), a resident of Saidapet, was arrested in front of his residence, CCB officials said. He is a teacher at the Chennai corporation middle school in M.G.R. nagar, near K.K. nagar.
Investigations revealed that Raja had joined service in 2001 using forged documents, said E. Velu, investigative officer, CCB (team V). The accused had confessed to have joined service using forged documents and he was subsequently produced at the Egmore magistrate court and remanded in Puzhal central prison, he added.
Only on Tuesday, Kuppan and T. Raja, two primary school teachers with the Chennai corporation at M.G.R. nagar, Kodungaiyur, were arrested by the CCB. According to police officials with the CCB, they had received a complaint from the directorate of technical education and Chennai corporation’s education officer suspecting at least 29 teachers with Chennai corporation have joined service using fake certificates. Further investigations are on.
