Magnus clan confident of coronation
Chennai: “It was a draw,“ shouted a policeman as he stormed out of the media centre to escort Viswanathan Anand and Magnus Carlsen to the postmatch press conference on Saturday. But the mood in the adjacent room was upbeat, even as Indian fans sulked.
After a quiet round of applause, Carlsen's father, manager and elder sister headed in different directions to feed the media.
Ellen was happy with the second successive win of her brother.
“There was big relief in the camp when he broke the deadlock in the series by winning the fifth round on Friday,“ she said.
But Ellen said the world no.1 was also aware of the potential pitfalls ahead. “My brother is mature enough to know that the match hasn't finished yet. Mangus is aware of the problems even though I'm confident that he will have it easy here in Chennai,“ she added.
