Kamineni students blame principal for suicide

Hyderabad: The students of Kamineni Medical College at Narketpally in Nalgonda district claimed that Sai Suresh who had committed suicide in the hostel, had done so as the principal was very strict and exerting “unnecessary pressure” on them.

Despite several attempts by this newspaper to contact the principal and management of the college there was no response from them.

Students said that they were going to have a set of internal exams and in the counselling session in the class, the principal Prof. Shruthi Mohanty had stated that three papers had been set and all of them were very tough.

She exhorted the students to prepare well; if they failed the internal exams they will not be allowed to sit for the external exams, the students stated. The family of Sai Suresh too suspects pressure of exams to be the reason for his suicide. The police has registered a case of suspicious death and is investigating.
