Sonia Gandhi to study Telangana before core committee meet
Hyderabad: There are three stages before the Telangana Bill is tabled in Parliament.
First, the Union Cabinet has to approve the Bill, and send it to the President as per Article 3 of the Constitution.
Next, the President would refer the draft Bill to the state legislature — the Assembly and the Council — to obtain its views, within a specific period. Then the President sends the draft Bill back to the Cabinet after giving his approval to introduce the Bill in either House of Parli-ament.
It is expected that UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi will meet the Congress Core Committee before the Cabinet takes note of the Bill and decide the status of Hyderabad as well as the special package for Seemandhra. It may not be a surprise if everything will be hurried on November 21 itself.
