This choir is gearing up for an enchanting performance for Christmas

From folk tunes, to jazz, and classical masterpieces, The Cecelian choir give their best. They have traditionally kept their motto of “service through song” and will once again thrill Bengaluru’s music lovers with their new repertoire. The concerts are scheduled on November 23 and 24 at Good Shepherd auditorium.

The choir, which has been entertaining Bengaluru for three decades have geared up for this year with their Harmony Xotica, which is a selection of choral pieces designed to entertain and educate. With 36 talented singers, it is conducted by Louise Pinto, who says that it is the love for good music that unites them. She adds, “We perform different music genres like classical, religious and popular music." Their practice sessions begin from July and are conducted during all weekends.

Joan De Nazareth, one of the city’s leading sopranos says, “We have a responsibility to keep our audiences spell bound, as we have ardent fans in the city. With more and more people who come forward to participate in the choir, it has been a phenomenal success since its inception.” Natasha Andrade, a creative analyst who is a new entrant in the choir, says that she has been fascinated by all their performances and wanted to be part of the troupe. She exclaims, “I used to listen to their songs every year and I have been interested in the discipline and the methodical way of singing. I am excited about this year's performance where I can be part of the production."
