Southern Railway to start 124 special trains to tackle extra rush during Christmas, New Year and Pongal.

Chennai: Southern Railway has announced the operation of 124 special trains to clear extra rush of passengers during Christmas, New Year, Irumudi, Thaipoosam and Pongal festivals. Advance reservation for the special trains will commence on November 22.
According to an official release, bi-weekly special train no: 06628 (via. Erode, Tiruchchirappalli, Vriddhachalam, Villupuram) will leave Coimbatore at 3.40pm on Sundays and Tuesdays on November 24, 26, December 1, 3, 8, 10, 15, 17, 22, 24, 29, 31 and January 5, 7, 12, 14, 19, 21 and arrive Chengalpattu at 3.05am the next day. Train No: 06627 will leave Chengalpattu at 2.45pm o Mondays and Wednesdays on November 25, 27, December 2, 4, 9, 11, 16, 18, 23, 25, 30 and January 1, 6, 8, 13, 15, 20, 22 and arrive Coimbatore at 3am the next day.
Similarly, another bi-weekly special train No: 06630 will leave Coimbatore at 3.40pm on Thursdays and Mondays on November 28, December 2, 5, 9, 12, 16, 19, 23, 26, 30 and January 2, 6, 9, 13, 16, 20, 23 and arrive Chengalpattu at 3.05am the next day. Train n No: 06629 will leave Chengalpattu at 2.45am on Fridays & Tuesdays on November 29, December 3, 6, 10, 13, 17, 20, 24, 27, 31 and January 3, 7, 10, 14, 17, 21, 24 and arrive Coimbatore at 3am the next day.
A weekly special train No: 06632 will leave Coimbatore at 1.15pm on Saturdays on November 30, December 7, 14, 21, 28 and January 4, 11, 18, 25 and arrive Chengalpattu at 1.30am the next day. Train No: 06631 will leave Chengalpattu at 2.45pm on Sundays on 1, 8, 15, 22, 29 and January 5, 12, 19, 26 and arrive Coimbatore at 3am the next day.
A weekly special train No: 06634 will leave Tiruchchirappalli at 9.15am on Thursdays on November 28, December 5, 12, 19, 26 and January 2, 9, 16, 23 and arrive Coimbatore at 2.15pm the same day. Special train No: 06633 will leave Coimbatore at 4am on Wednesdays on December 4, 11, 18, 25 and January 1, 8, 15, 22, 29 and arrive Tiruchchirappalli at 8.15am the same day.
The weekly special train No: 06636 will leave Tiruchchirappalli at 9.15am on Sundays on November 24, December 1, 8, 15, 22, 29 and January 5, 12, 19 and arrive Coimbatore at 2.15 pm the same day. Train No: 06635 will leave Coimbatore at 4am on Thursdays on November 28, December 5, 12, 19, 26 and January 2, 9, 16, 23 and arrive Tiruchchirappalli at 8.15am the same day.
