Kottayam: Father Johny Chittemariyil, the vicar of Vimalagiri Church in Idukki on Thursday, apologized for his facebook post which allegedly hurled aspersions on the parenthood of Uma Thomas, the wife of Idukki MP, P.T. Thomas.
This followed Uma's decision to proceed legally against Fr Chittemariyil for his mentioning in his facebook post that a certain Shenoy was her father, when in fact her father's name is Harihara Iyer.
“It is on the basis of wrong information that I have written in my facebook post that Uma Thomas is the daughter of Shenoy. The information is wrong, and Uma's father is Harihara Iyer, a Tamil Brahmin. I apologise for spreading wrong information”, Fr Chitte-mariyil's FB post says.
