Kruparani to release stamp on Saibaba
Minister Killi Kruparani to release astamp on 88th birth jayanthi of Sathya Sai Baba.
Anantapur: The district administration and the Sathya Sai Trust have made elaborate arrangements to celebrate the 88th birth jayanthi of Sathya Sai Baba here on Saturday.
As part of Saibaba Jayanthi, Union information technology and communications minister Killi Kruparani will release a Rs 5 commemorative stamp.
Talking to the media here, the minister said that it was a great honour for her to release the stamp on Sai Baba, who contributed a lot for philanthropic activities.
Meanwhile, officials have decided to provide clean drinking water to 15 villages in the district.
Earlier, the government had released Rs 80 crore to construct a drinking water project in the 120 villages of Kothhacheruvu, Bukkarayapatnam and Puttaparthi. Under the first phase water was provided to 15 villages.
Apart from Kruparani, Minister J. Geetha Reddy has also come to Puttaparthi to participate in birthday celebrations.
Several devotional programmes, bhajans, recitation of the Lalita Sahasranamam, the Hanuman Chalisa, and cultural programmes would be held to mark the jayanthi.
Distribution of food and clothes and cleaning temples, are also being held.
