Ilayathalapathy Vijay’s thoughtful gesture
Ilayathalapathy Vijay’s recent gesture in a foreign country was a pleasant surprise to the entire team of the actor’s upcoming flick, 'Jilla'. The whole crew, comprising Vijay, Kajal Agarwal, director Neson and choreographer Raju Sundaram, were recently in Japan to shoot for a song sequence.
After shooting in few places where they had already sought permission for, Neson wanted a location that retained Japan’s traditional rustic charm, like the old wooden houses, a pond, mountains, bridges — all in one place.
Finally, when he came across Kyoto, the old capital of Japan, which had everything he had imagined, he decided to shoot the romantic number, 'Kandaangi', penned by the ace lyricist Vairamuthu and composed by Imman. But they had to take permission to shoot there, and unfortunately, communications were totally cut off due to an earthquake which hit the place a few days before they embarked on the shoot.
Hence, they could not contact producer R.B.Choudhary. Apparently, huge money was to be paid to the respective authorities to secure permissions and go ahead with the shoot.
That is when Vijay stepped in and quickly arranged the money, since he also felt that it was the ideal location for the beautiful song. “Despite being a big hero, Vijay’s act was a gratifying moment for all of us,” commented a unit hand. The song was shot for four days.
