N’Courage your dream
Every month a talented team of designers, bakers, artists come together to share their stories and experiences while showcasing their creations with pride. From sambar podi to cupcakes, accessories, to maternity clothes - Pari's N'Courage fest features an assortment of products that women entrepreneurs, from Bengaluru craft with a sense of satisfaction. Their motive behind the event is that the world needs more women entrepreneurs and women entrepreneurs need us!
Each of us have witnessed the story of the next door highspirited girl, who loved baking cupcakes and gave up on her dream due to lack of funds. PARI turns the spotlight on such women and creates a platform for them to showcase their talent and also fund them. “Coming from the business world, I know how hard it is for budding entrepreneurs to create their business. And being a woman in this field, it is all the more difficult as, it is quite hard for the common man to believe in you," says, Kalpana Rao who organises the fest every month. She adds, “It is not just another community bazaar but, a forum to support young and talented entrepreneurs to fund their dreams. The profit that we get through the event is given to budding entrepreneurs to run their businesses."
Apart from showcasing their talent, the fair also provides a chance to interact and know better about fellow women entrepreneurs. Kavita Jain, who runs Needle Doodle, a store which sells needle-worked products says, “It was a chance to get to know like-minded people in the city and network. Also, we share our stories and experiences which makes it even more exciting and inspiring." With an assortment of products like accessories, clutches and more their goods range from Rs 50 to Rs 2000.
Visitors also get to hear a glimpse of the history behind each product and how it is designed as Kalpana says, “When a person picks up a product from one of our stalls, they get to know who does it and how many hours of passion goes into each piece. When you buy something from the stall, you are taking back a piece of the creators, soul." The bond that these businesswomen share with each other speaks volumes, as Amita Sharma a fashion designer puts it, “The concept of having this fest is life-altering, as I have a sense of satisfaction that I am contributing to the business model of other people and helping them realise their passion."
The fest happens every month at 1/2, Cambridge Road Cross and the next one is slated for December 14 and 15.
