Anushka Shetty is set to star in another woman-centric film, 'Bhagmati'. Director Ashok of 'Pilla Zamindar' fame will direct the film, while 'Vamsi' and Pramod, of blockbuster 'Mirchi', will produce it. However, it’s not a period film as earlier reported. “It’s a social drama and has nothing to do with the story of the Golconda ruler Quli Qutb Shah. They’re just using the name for the title,” a source insists.
“The producers have approached her and she’s quite positive about doing the film. The director will narrate the story to her soon. It’s almost finalised,” informs Anushka’s manager. Since the actress has earlier worked with the producers and shares a good rapport with them, she gave an instant nod of approval. While the film will revolve around Anushka, a top actor will be roped to play the male lead. The film will go on the floors next May.
