AAP’s victory gives new hope

Seen as start of people-oriented-political system.

Hyderabad: There is more to the victory of the AAP in New Delhi than meets the eye. What had started as anti-corruption campaign has laid the foundation for a new political force.

Arvind Kejriwal’s victory is being perceived as a start of a people-oriented political system and experts from city are hoping that this movement spreads to other states.

C. Vinod Kumar, state coordination committee member, AAP, AP said, “We celebrated the victory in our Hyderabad office as well. This set an example that elections could be won without money. Our mission foundation has been based on his ideology and going by it, we will now start district-based panels that are full-fledged.”

Prithvi Reddy, national executive member, AAP said, “He (Kejriwal) was confident to take on the three-time chief minister Sheila Dikshit in his first election and this will instil confidence in people. Kejriwal has displayed leadership qualities and his victory is his reward.”

V. Lakshmana Reddy, state president of Jana Chaitanya Vedika said, “The party has fought for issues that made sense and Kejriwal struck a chord with them.”
