Dubstep in town
How about one more music festival before the year ends?
Well, if that is what you prayed for, then your prayers have been answered. The Smirnoff Experience festival is coming to town with some of the biggest names in Dubstep, Nero and Rusko. But that's not the only reason for you to smile because, guess who is designing the stage. Wait for it, Alex Lazarus and Heather Shaw of Vita Motus.
The Grammy Award winning electronic music trio are set to make waves for their first ever performance on Indian soil.
Their remix of Skrillex's Promises won the Grammy Award for Best Remixed Recording in 2013. Nero says, “This is the first time we've ever been to India yet it is a place that we've always wanted to come and visit. We look forward to performing for our fans here".
Rusko too says that he is ecstatic about playing in the city of Bangalore. “I can't wait to come out to India! It's going to be my first time ever, and I have a bunch of cool new tracks to bring with me!" he exclaims. The festival will also showcase a series of visual art installations by Indian artists, including Lightbenders and Transhuman Collective.
DJ Vanshi, who is known for his dubstep music says that he is a fan of Nero. “It is great that they are coming to perform in the city. One of my favourite tracks by them is "Crush on You"," states Vanshi.
Some of the other artistes performing are, Bay Beat Collective (BBC) and Dualist Inquiry.
The festival is taking place on December 21 at Manpho Convention Centre, Bangalore.
