Activists threaten Ananta of dire consequences if he did not support NCM.

Anantapur: Tense situation prevailed at Anantapur MP A.Venkatrami Reddy’s residence here on Tuesday where a large number of Samaikyandhra activists led by Sri Krishnadevaraya University JAC and YSR Congress party laid siege to his residence demanding him to support the no-confidence motion against the UPA government.

While several other MPs of Congress signed on the notice seeking no-confidence motion against their own party, Anantapur MP Ananta Venkatrami Reddy had not joined with his co-MPs, to mount pressure on the party high command to stop the division process.

The SK varsity JAC leaders K. Sadashiva Reddy and Parusuram Naik, YSR party steering committee member N. Linga Reddy and B. Parusu Ram, YSR students wing leader Maruthi Prakash took out a procession towards MP Ananta Vekatrami Reddy’s residence at court road area here.

Raising slogans, the activists staged a protest at the MP’s residence demanding him to support the no-confidence motion against the UPA government which could stop the state’s division process, without getting clearance.

Speaking on the occasion, SKU JAC convener K. Sadashiva Reddy observed many MPs of Congress came open to move no-confidence motion to stop the division process.

“Anantapur MP Ananta Venkatrami Reddy, who had claimed himself as Samaikyandhra activist, has not joined hands with other MPs,” he said and threatened of dire consequences as people were not in a position to digest any sabotage.

Later, police arrested the activists and evacuated road at MP’s residence. Similarly, Joint Action Committee of all educational institutions and youths staged a protest on NH-44 demanding all MPs including Central ministers should support no-confidence motion that was only a weapon existed to teach a fitting lesson to the Centre. District unit of MIM took out a procession in Anantapur demanding to keep the state undivided.

Banks remained closed on Tuesday following the bandh called by the Samaikyandhra JAC in Kurnool, Kadapa and Anantapur districts. Protests were witnessed at many parts of the region.
