From a bus conductor to India’s living legend

Superstar Rajinikanth was recently selected one among 25 Global Living Legends by a television channel and honoured at a glittering event in Delhi.

A humble Rajinikanth said, “Many people don’t believe in miracles. But miracles do happen. An ordinary bus conductor sharing the dais with the greatest living legends is a miracle,” he remarked, pointing to the dignitaries with him, including Ratan Tata, SRK, Amitabh Bachchan, Sachin Tendulkar, A.R. Rahman and others.

Later, he said, “I am dedicating this award to my brother, Sathyanarayana Gaekwad, who was my father and mother, my guru Balachander and the people of Tamil Nadu. Without their support, I wouldn’t have been here to receive this honour.”
