Customs seizes Rs 5 crore worth gold at Hyderabad airport
Chief Commissioner Excise Hyderabad BB Prasad KK Singh commissioner and R Manoher additional commissioner displays 18 kg gold biscuits seized from Rajiv Gandhi International Airport at Shamshabad, on Friday.- Hyderabad central excise seized about 60 kg of gold this year.
- Hazi Mohammad, Ziauddin and Chokkalingam were travelling by a private airline. They will be produced in a local court, a customs official said.
- The gold was meant to be smuggled to Chennai further, the official said, adding an investigation was on.
- The trio carried as many as 18 gold bars, each weighing one kg and valued at over Rs5 crore.
