Vishav is bitten by the travel bug

Travelling is my second skin.

Vishav

In a way, travelling is my second skin because not only I travel when I have time for myself, but even when I am working, most of the time I am travelling. But the thing is that when you travel for work, you go to places like Bangkok and Dubai, which are not the places I really prefer. What I am really fond of is traveling to places within India, especially those places that are still not bitten by the commercial bug. And there still are so many places here that are just the way they were naturally made.

In the north, Dharamsala is my favourite destination, as it is also close to my ancestral village in Punjab too. I love the vibe of Dharamsala and I also like to visit the Dalai Lama’s monastery over there. Towards south, I love Puducherry and Kerala. And up in the east there’s vast unexplored lands and I like Sikkim, Darjeeling and Dibrugarh. Even the outskirts of Kolkata are one of my preferred places — the Sundarbans. Those are the places that I like to go to when I am in a mood for some adventure. There are so many lessons that you learn on such trips.

When I am in a mood to just chill out and relax with a few friends, or even alone, I head out to Goa. I just grab a few books and head out to the beach and just relax there, reading and listening to music. I just read John Grisham’s Theodore Boone: The Activist and a few chapters of Carl Sagan’s Cosmos on my last trip to Goa. Unlike most other people who go to Goa to party and stay up late at night, I go for the daytime relaxation. My nights are quite early when I am there. I like to wake up early and have a full day’s time at my hand to enjoy the real essence of the place. I just don’t want to miss out on anything when I travel.
