Bala’s second innings in Tamil, thanks to Ajith
Actor Bala is on cloud nine, the reason being the Ajith-starrer, the Siva-directed 'Veeram', where he plays the younger brother of Thala has brought him back to the limelight in Tamil cinema. Not many know that he is the younger brother of director Siva in real life.
Bala is not a newcomer to Kollywood. He debuted with Anbu a decade ago, continued to act in a few movies, including 'Kadhal Kisu Kisu', 'Manjal Veyyil' but vanished from the scene as the films turned out to be duds. Later, Mollywood beckoned, and today, he is popular star in Malayalam with 40 films to his credit, having acted with the likes of Mammootty, Mohanlal, Prithiviraj, Suresh Gopi etc. He has even tried his hand at direction successfully with a movie, The Hit List.
Sharing his experiences of working with Ajith, the actor says animatedly, “I can speak volumes. I have not come across a person like Ajith sir in my life. I was touched by his humaneness. The days I spent with him during the shoot were unforgettable. In fact, he called all the screen brothers five days prior to the shoot to Hyderabad and said, ‘we are all playing brothers in Veeram. So, let’s move closely for the next few days so that our chemistry gets translated on to the screen with real emotions’. He had so much commitment!” Bala was all praise for Ajith’s culinary talents as well. “Ajith sir is a great cook. He made awesome chicken biryani and fish fry for all of us”.
