With Sidharth Malhotra and Alia Bhatt gearing up for the release of their next films after Student of the Year — Hasee Toh Phasee and Highway, respectively — their former co-star Varun Dhawan too will finally have his second film hit the theatres.
“The film will arrive in theatres on April 4. While Varun is excited since this is his second release, it is a matter of pride for his dad (David Dhawan) as well, since he has directed his son for the first time ever,” said a source.
The source added, “Since this film will see Varun in a solo lead capacity, there’s that added pressure. You’ll see and hear a lot more of Varun in the coming weeks, as he promotes the film. Ekta Kapoor, who is producing the film, has huge plans for him. In fact, the final cut of a specially designed promo is being readied now. It is going to be a surprise for viewers.”
Varun announced on Twitter that the “first look” of the film would be unveiled in a week.
