When stars get special treatment
When celebs undergo personal upheavals, they get support from their fans, making them truly a blessed lot.
Stars and celebs are ‘truly blessed’ when it comes to garnering sympathy and support the moment their ship sails through troubled waters.
For instance, news about Ayaan, Emraan Hashmi’s four-year-old son being diagnosed with cancer sent shock waves throughout the film fraternity and everyone came forward to lend their support to the family. Another example of special treatment meted out during troubled times is that of Sanjay Dutt’s. The actor got an extension on his parole due to Manyata’s illness. Hrithik Roshan, too, had managed to win many sympathy votes during his separation from wife Sussanne.
Sandalwood actress Milana says, “As good as it feels, it is not right to give one person so much importance just because of their celebrity status. Looking at it from the common man’s perspective, I think it is unfair.”
Now here is some food for thought — Would the aam aadmi be allowed an extension on his parole if his wife was unwell? The answer is an obvious NO!
After cricketer Yuvraj Singh overcame his illness, it seems like he can now relate better with other people’s pain and suffering. He wrote a foreword for author Anna Varughese’s book Past Perfect.
Anna, who was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis at the age of four says, “I feel so blessed for all the positive energy that my friends and family brought into my life. The fact that Yuvraj wrote it himself, shows that he could relate with my pain and I am honoured by his kind gesture.”
Incidentally, Yuvi has been reaching out to everyone who needs support. He apparently suggested that Emraan should take his son to the States for treatment.
Recently, Farah Khan had tweeted, “So happy 2 hear that Emraan Hashmi’s son Ayan is recovering well..made my kids pray 4 the lil 1 last nite..”
Actress Sharmila Mandre explains, “The reason celebs have such a massive support system is because they are public figures. The common man rarely comes in the public eye. While the former gets support during trying times, when mistakes are made they also bear the brunt of it, right? A folly once committed gets etched in people’s minds forever.”
